Refund Policy

Applies to all escrow jobs and platform transactions

Summary: Funds in escrow are refundable before an artisan begins work. Once work is approved and funds are released, refunds are only available through our dispute resolution process. We do not issue refunds for platform service fees.

1. What This Policy Covers

This policy covers payments made through the OgaLanLord platform, specifically escrow payments for artisan jobs and milestone-based contracts. It does not apply to direct payments made between users outside the platform; OgaLanLord is not responsible for off-platform transactions.

2. How Escrow Works

When a client creates a job on OgaLanLord, they fund an escrow account before work begins. The funds are held securely and are not paid to the artisan until the client approves the completed work. This protects both parties: the client knows their money is safe, and the artisan knows payment is guaranteed on completion.

OgaLanLord acts as an escrow agent for service transactions only. We do not hold funds for any purpose other than facilitating a specific job agreed between a client and artisan on this platform.

3. Refunds Before Work Begins

If a job is cancelled before the artisan begins work, the full escrow amount (minus any applicable payment processor fees charged to us) will be refunded to the client. Refunds are processed within 5 to 10 business days depending on your bank.

To request a cancellation before work starts, contact us at support@ogalanlord.com or raise a cancellation request from your job dashboard.

4. Refunds After Work Has Started

Once an artisan has begun work on a milestone, a full refund is not automatically available. If the work is unsatisfactory, the client must raise a dispute within 7 days of the milestone submission date.

Our dispute team will review evidence from both parties (photos, messages, job briefs, proof of work) and make a determination. Depending on the outcome, a full refund, partial refund, or fund release to the artisan will be processed. The decision of our dispute team is final.

5. Auto-Release of Funds

If a client does not approve or dispute a milestone within the auto-release window shown in their job dashboard, funds are automatically released to the artisan. Auto-released funds are not refundable except through a dispute raised before the release deadline.

6. Platform Service Fees

Platform fees deducted from escrow releases are non-refundable. These fees cover the cost of escrow management, dispute resolution services, verification, and platform operations.

7. Booking Refunds (Simple Bookings)

For simple bookings (not escrow-protected), no payment is collected upfront through OgaLanLord. The booking is a scheduling request only. Payment terms are agreed directly between the client and the artisan.

8. Property Listings

OgaLanLord does not collect or hold funds on behalf of landlords or agents. All property rent payments are made directly between the tenant and the property owner. We are not responsible for any payments made in connection with property listings.

9. How to Request a Refund

  • Log in to your OgaLanLord account and navigate to the relevant job or booking.
  • If the job is not yet started, use the "Cancel Job" button to initiate a refund.
  • If work has started, use the "Raise Dispute" option within 7 days of milestone submission.
  • Alternatively, email support@ogalanlord.com with your job ID and a description of the issue.
  • Our team will respond within 2 business days.
